OH JOE
From an April 6 interview with Joe at Pazsaz:

Question:
Can you tell me something that your fans would be surprised to know about you?

Joe Flanigan:
I raise my own honey bees. I have my own organic vegetable garden. I'm actually a little bit of a farmer. In fact, I'm sitting here in Colorado actually right now and my fingers are all wrapped up. I almost chopped my finger off in one of these classic Farmer Joe moments dealing with large equipment and nonsense. A man of the Earth.

So many ♥ ♥ ♥

[livejournal.com profile] berryann has a round up of LA con reports [here], which lead me to [livejournal.com profile] clockstopper's report [here], which - among many other delicious goodies - provides this:

Also, he and Torri, while politically dissimilar, were the same in a lot of ways. And he loved hearing Torri's conspiracy theories, though he doesn't think the government has that kind of competency. He called George Bush the stupidest man in the world. He's kind of a a bad Republican.

HAPPY
[livejournal.com profile] kristen999 found an interview with Joe on the set of his new pilot / film (he's called it a pilot; the interviewer calls it a film) - the one where he and his wife suddenly have to take care for their friends' newly orphaned children. HE IS VERY CUTE. [click here to see].

Joe's new movie (or TV show - I can't figure out if this is a feature or a pilot?) is now on [imdb]. So far, no listing for a horse wrangler in the credits, so I'm leaning toward 'Joe will drive around in a truck.'

Not that that's a bad thing :>

More con stuff
[livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley has more from the con [here], including some absolutely fascinating stuff about the relationship between the cast and the producers (especially JM). There's also this gem:

[Joe] said one of his regrets was that the writers never knew how to write for the female characters . . .

WORDY MCWORD, FLANIGAN.

Joe and Jason continue to be awesome, news at ten
More from the con, this time via [livejournal.com profile] allipeeps:

They were asked what they thought of the last episode of SGA and Jason immediately said, "Hated it" and Joe agreed, "Yeah, I hated it too."

[Head over here] to read her full rundown of the panel, including tales of hijinks, and Joe being an old man who sleeps with ear plugs in. :D

Oh, Joe! I heart you.
From [livejournal.com profile] nakedwesley's con report, which you can read over [here]:

Joe came over to collect his coat. . . . He turned to us unexpectedly, and asked if we were going to be as dedicated fans for SGU. I answered with a resounding NO! He said, "but what if it's good?" and I said "Then they'll just pull it. I don't trust them anymore." He said (he actually said) "Yeah, I don't either really." We told him how angry the fans were and he said something along the lines of "We work so hard to make a connection between the character and the audience, and they just dismiss it. They think it's their formula that makes it a success and they can just replace us." He also said they might as well say the fans will watch anything they do, just because it's them and he looked a little surprised when I told him Brad Wright had come right out and said exactly that. The last thing he said was, "Don't hold it against Robert Carlyle. He's a good actor."

I love hearing Wright condemned right out of Joe's mouth *beams*. And what a good egg to say that about Carlyle. JOE FOR THE WIN.

Joe Mallozzi's back on form with his behind-the-scenes pictures. There are four below the cut, ostensibly from The Kindred, Part One, but none give away any kind of plot. They're just pretty :D
